Chiara Lorenz is a freshman college student born and raised in the Texas Hill Country; north-west of the San Antonio metropolitan area. She is a shy and timid girl. Her parents are very strict and raised her to be a proficient pianist ever since she was a kid. Her social skills leave a lot to desire despite her academic success and she's been an easy target for bullies during her school years because of her shy nature. Her best friend is Emi who she had met back in high school when she came to help her in her time of need. Despite her great success in academics, Chiara is unsure of herself sometimes. She hates being a liability to people. When she's not busy with her education or piano lessons, Chiara likes to watch classic black and white films. She just recently got into VR gaming when she got her first VR headset. She's played a lot of games in VR but found a new passion for combat with Mil-Sim Story. She is the only child in her family but has a cousin who is going to school overseas that she sometimes gets to talk to though not frequently.

    Weapons:

  • Primary: Heckler and Koch MP5SD6 (9x19mm Parabellum)
  • The MP5 (Machienpistole 5) submachine gun hardly needs an introduction. Developed by Heckler and Koch in the 1960s in West Germany for police, special forces and border guard units, the MP5 used a roller-delayed blowback system similar to its big brother the G3 (Gewehr 3) battle rifle which was based on the Spanish CETME (Centro de Estudios Técnicos de Materiales Especiales) Model 58 which was based on some German and French Assault Rifle prototypes at the end of the Second World War (Sturmgewehr 45 and Modèle 1950 phew). With that out of the way, the MP5 turned out to be a very high quality submachine gun which won the hearts of many military and law enforcement users from across the globe thanks to its fantastic build quality, reliability, and ease of shooting. A bit heavy by modern standards and lacking in some aspects in modularity, the MP5 is still a favorite in the 21st and especially in the world of Mil-Sim Story thanks to its popularity in history, movies, and video games.. There are many variants of the MP5 from short variants (Kurz), PDW (Personal Defense Weapon) configurations, and many stock and fire control configurations. There are also various caliber variations like 9mm, .40 S&W, and the stout 10mm depending on what the user requires for the operation. The MP5 is a solid choice for those looking to replicate a classic special forces loadout or for players wanting to emulate a counter terrorist aesthetic and philosphy in-game.

Chiara is a very shy shooter and has taken a liking to the MP5. Specifically the MP5SD6 which has an integrated suppressor with a single, full-auto, and three round burst fire control unit. While the suppressor doesn’t “silence” the submachine gun despite what popular consensus may imply, it does eliminate the muzzle flash, recoil, and reduces the sound signature especially with subsonic 9mm loads which certainly makes it very manageable for Chiara’s strength despite the weight of the weapon. She has an Aimpoint T1 red dot optic mounted on a picatinny adapter specifically designed for the MP5 platform which is a bit outdated compared to newer optics out there but it gets the job done. Attaching a flashlight is a bit of a work around but after seeing Mai’s solution to mounting a flashlight on her Type 56 Carbine, Chiara took notes and used a hose clamp to mount a light on her submachine gun with a pressure pad for easy activation. Aftermarket solutions are available in Mil-Sim Story to add more modularity and customization to the MP5 platform but Chiara insists on keeping her weapon as is.

  • Sidearm: Silenced Taurus TX22 Compact (22LR)
  • The Taurus TX22 Compact is a civilian polymer semi-auto pistol chambered for the anemic 22 long rifle cartridge. While not a first choice for anyone looking to operate on the battlefield, this plinking range toy does have some merits. It’s compact, lightweight, and virtually has no recoil thanks to its caliber. Ammo capacity for a semi-auto 22 is actually impressive with the full size TX22 magazine having a capacity of 16 to 22 rounds while the compact model comes with 10-13 round magazines with the added benefit of also using the standard capacity magazines of the TX22. It’s a good pistol for someone like Chiara to get accustomed to with its forgiving handling characteristics. It could also be fitted with a suppressor which almost makes the pistol sound like an airgun when fired. Something that Chiara found to be advantageous as a scout that needs to stay discrete in situations like taking out targets of interests. A well placed shot even with 22 can still be deadly. She can also take out enemy soda cans with it too if she's ever bored.
